Such is life as a stock photographer. I must admit that when we shot this image we did not really plan the shoot and had nothing special (no real use) in mind. It was just the two of us, a lot of fun and a a piece of artificial grass.
But today this funny picture made me very happy when we saw it on the front page of the political German newspaper “taz“.
Nowadays stock photographers normally do not get tearsheets of their published work. So it is always great to see an image in use.
But it is not only the feeling of being proud to see one of mine on the cover. The taz has carefully chosen this image to fit the context of the German spring financial report. It’s almost as if the stock photo had been tailored to this use. The author and layouter of the article have successfully created a strong synergy between the picture and the message of their text. This really makes me happy because it shows that stock photos can be more than ornaments and eyecatchers in ads and commercials.

Congratulations! Although I don’t think the author of this blog:

seems to understand what you’re talking about. I certainly don’t like his use of a derogatory word for German.
Great image !
